To a most well deserving beautiful soul! Beth Loethen is the JCCF MVP for November 2017!! We couldn’t be more excited to have her and her family, Team Loethen, in our membership as part of JCCF Community!
You have inspired me personally in more ways than one. Your gorgeous smile is contagious. You have a trait of determined grit to make all things possible.
Family: Scott (hubby of 16 years..He was my high school sweetheart) 3 boys Alex 14, Coen 11 and Parker John 7.
When and how did you get started with us? We started CrossFit in October of 2014. We had friends and family give it a try and love it so we jumped in!
We have been CrossFitting for 3 years!!!
What time do you come to WOD normally? 4:30 or whenever the boys sports schedules allow me to get in the gym.
Favorite Lift: CLEANS
Favorite Workout: MURPH: I love how the Crossfit community honors the military and first responders through hero WODS. Lt. Murphy passed away on my birthday so I always feel I should honor him.
Least Favorite Workout: FRAN.
Favorite Meal: Special meals would be my family’s Thanksgiving meal! What my Mom, Aunts and Grandma can pull together is amazing! Scott is the cook at our house, and I love grilled steak with oven roasted potatoes and asparagus. This is a long answer. We take food very seriously at our house.
Favorite Beverage: Advocare Spark, water and margaritas. In that order.
Funniest memory at the box: I love any comedic workout commentary by the humorous Zach Lauf, Andrea Morrow and Janelle Harris.
What is the favorite part about the class that you attend? The 4:30 peeps are awesome! Love all the phenomenal ladies who lift each other up every day a JCCF!
What is the wallpaper on your phone right now? A pic of my boys
What is your favorite JCCF Tradition/Community Event? THE GALA!! I can’t turn down the opportunity to dress up and go out with my LOVE, but I also love the CrossFit OPEN!
What is your favorite candy bar? 3 way tie Butterfinger/Reese’s/Snickers
If you won $10,000 Dollars what would be your first purchase? Pay off Alex’s braces and then a pair of Nike Metcons!
If you could be any animal in the world, what would it be and why? Lioness- they fiercely protect their family.
Tell us some about your journey and greatest accomplishments. Beginning CrossFit was a huge step out of my comfort zone. I was not an athlete growing up but I know the importance of health and wellness and take it very seriously. Having my 3 boys join me at the box is also very special. Alex and I had a blast competing in the OPEN together and will be back under Friday Night Lights this year.
My first CrossFit competition was at CrossFit Believe in Warrensburg, MO. Scott and Alex competed too. It was awesome. I’d love to do another.
If you could give any advice for a person new to CrossFit, what would it be?: “Run your own race. Don’t waste time comparing yourself to others just show up every day and do your best. The gains will come. Also, listen to the trainers. They have such wisdom and knowledge. Embrace the community. You will find friends here.
