Announcing our Jefferson City CrossFit’s MVP for August. This gentleman has been with JCCF as one of the first graduated OnRampers. Who knew when he walked in our doors what was in store! Hardworking to put it mildly. Here are a couple pictues of where he was and where he is now. Scott Amos, we are proud to have you as a member at JCCF. Along with you amazing wife, Marya and son, Cody. Besides a 40 lb pr on his Front Squat this past Saturday, here is a bit more about him!

Favorite CrossFit movement or lift: That’s hard….Really digging Deadlift right now.

Favorite WOD: Anything with a row or run in it.

How long have you been CrossFitting?:  Mid December 2012

Why do you do CrossFit: At first it was for weight and health reasons…now it’s more because it’s  fun and I look forward to working out and suffering with everyone.

Two CF Goals: Muscle-up and efficient dreaded double unders

What are three of your gains since CrossFit?: There is way more than just three…but I’m stronger physically (of course)…and mentally (I’m so much more focused) also a lot of new friends!

Any losses?: Weight!!!  And have been taken off all blood pressure medicine

Favorite shoes to Back Squat in?: Looking forward to trying actual crossfit shoes out, but favorite shoes ever ae Nike free runs

Clean and Jerk or Back Squat and why?: Clean and jerk…it’s funny how movements that I struggle with become my favorite…hopefully double unders will be my favorite soon. lol

Pullups or Pushups and why: Pullups…Because  when I see 100 pullups in a WOD…I think, “I can do that…Now!”

Favorite CrossFit saying: I just read this on the back of Milne’s shirt. “Scale it to you nail it” then “Drill it to you kill it”

How many days a week do you CrossFit? 4-5

What is one thing that a person who knows you may not know about you: That I’m kind of shy…Lol …not really I don’t know a stranger.

Favorite Beverage: Coffee

Favorite Meal: That’s hard too…My wife, as most of you know, is a fantastic cook and I like to eat everything. Right now…Mexican stuffed Zucchini and eggplant rings. (She make some dangerous cinnamon rolls too!)

Your Hero or someone that inspires you?:  My wife, Marya. She is such an awesome wife, mother and overall person. I want to be just like her when I grow up…lol. We have been married for 17 years and she has been such an encouraging factor through everything  that I do.
